Piano Tuning - $150

Piano tuning is the process of adjusting the tension of the strings, so they all vibrate in pleasing harmony with one another. This usually takes approximately an hour and a half. Pianos should generally be tuned every six months to a year to maintain proper pitch, even if not played frequently. An inspection of the inside of the piano is included.

Pitch Raise - $25 (+tuning)

The piano naturally goes flat, most commonly due to changes in temperature and humidity. When each of its approximately 220 strings need to be tightened considerably, the additional tension load affects previously tuned strings. Therefore, it is nearly impossible to make a significant change to the pitch and end up with a fine, accurate tuning in one step. First, the strings must be raised to the correct average tension levels, then, the piano can be given a precise tuning. If your piano has not been tuned in a few years, you may need a pitch raise.

Repairs

Is anything wrong with your piano? Do you have broken or sticking keys? Contact me for a quote! Some minor repairs and adjustments may be included with the tuning fee.

Does your QRS or PianoDisc player piano need repair? Tired of using floppy discs or CDs? Your piano may need an upgrade to the Bluetooth-enabled PianoDisc Prodigy or WiFi QRS PNOmation 3 processor. Reach out for a repair or upgrade consultation.

Grand Piano Cleaning - $25

The grand piano soundboard, action, and interior occasionally need dusting for optimal performance and to restore your piano’s natural beauty. This cleaning service is an optional add-on to your tuning appointment.
